Goliath Barbarian

Here is the second of two 3D printed models for a return client of mine. This mini is a slightly bigger scale than the usual models I paint which was absolutely refreshing because there was more space to refine blends and add extra details. For this one, I was only given a small image to use as a reference (shown below).

The skin and face were the features of the mini that I wanted to put the most effort into and make it pop against the fabrics, leather, and metal. It’s definitely the best skin and face that I’ve painted thus far and super stoked on how everything came out. I usually don’t add much color to the eyes of minis since they are so small but this sculpt allowed me to add some lime green to them which really pop against the warm skin and warm leathers. I didn’t realize there was a higher resolution image of my reference which actually has blue eyes but I only found that out at the time I’m writing this… Also real pumped on the freehand line on the face, which was a key feature of my reference photo. The hair was pretty tricky since it had so much movement but overall came out decent. Thanks a ton for the opportunity on these miniatures, Eric.
