Hill Dwarf Armor Artificer w/ Thunder Gauntlets
Here is a one of two commissions I did for a return client of mine from my Etsy shoppe. He 3D printed two miniatures and sent them to me to paint. He wanted the armor to have a purple tint to it and the dwarf to have pale skin and golden brown hair. Additionally he wanted extra focus on the thunder gauntlets which was an integral part of his character.
To tackle these requests, I tucked in a few different purple hues into the shadows of the armor. I think I could have dialed up the purple a bit by washing the entirety of the armor with a purple wash/ink but I liked the subtlety of the final result. I also added a purple flower to tie in character with the base as well as bring out the colors of the armor a bit. For the thunder gauntlets, I tried to make it look like they was energy arcing between the two nodes on the gloves as well as making it look like there was an internal glow of energy in the armor at the two lenses in the chest piece. The hair came out a little more of a redhead than I would have liked but it really popped against the blues of the fabric and the purpley armor.
